An Initiative of AAFT
Highway to Hale (H2H) is an initiative of the American Advertising Federation of Tuscaloosa (AAFT) and began in 2015. AAFT is a professional advertising organization that not only provides professional development for members, but encourages community involvement, service and fundraising. Proceeds from the H2H ride fund two specific scholarships in marketing and advertising at The University of Alabama.
This year’s Highway to Hale accepted an invitation to join the 2018 Alabama Backroads Century Series (ABCS). Participating in the H2H century route qualifies participants for ABCS awards. See below for more details.
The ride begins and ends at the Moundville Archaeological Park in Moundville, Alabama (located about 10 miles south of Tuscaloosa and interstates 20 and 59). The event consists of four distances: a 25 mile out and back, a 38 mile loop through Akron, a 69 mile loop through Greensboro and the Talladega National Forest, and a 100+ mile ride that makes a large figure eight covering most of Hale County. A post ride meal will be available for participants, as well as t-shirts and other “swag.”
Registration will open in January 2018. Registrants will have the opportunity to purchase a H2H jersey/bib kit.
